Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bruno Boy to make the kick off. Rorry McPhilip made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Dennis-Sven Söderström sent off a good shot on target. After 69 minutes, Jeremias St Clair mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Brazil and the U21 Ireland players grew even worse after the yellow card. With a little luck, U21 Ireland's Rorry McPhilip got control of the ball when Dennis-Sven Söderström tried to sneak it across the goal line.
