The supporters of Dominican Republic booed when USA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rufus Chacon didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 6th minute, Von Ramirez made a precise shot to the right of Wilson Angulo. Dominican Republic's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. When USA's Von Ramirez in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Dominican Republic's goalie prevented a goal. Wilson Angulo came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by USA's Von Ramirez. But to his dismay, Von Ramirez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 17 minutes into the match, Von Ramirez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wilson Angulo. Dominican Republic's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Von Ramirez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Duaner Nava got a throw-in 21 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Demetrio Vigil. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leo Nell in the 26th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Jamar Valencia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jamar Valencia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agilberto Villarreal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. USA's Jamar Valencia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agilberto Villarreal in the 31st minute of play. In the 33rd minute of the match Dominican Republic got a corner. USA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Julián Núñez ran over to the corner to take the kick. 35 minutes into the game, Rufus Chacon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Wilson Angulo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jamar Valencia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agilberto Villarreal in the 40th minute of the match. Duaner Nava charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Duaner Nava the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Duaner Nava hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The Dominican Republic players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. USA were winning 0-4.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leo Nell was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leo Nell in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jamar Valencia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 52nd minute Von Ramirez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Angulo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wilson Angulo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Von Ramirez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Dominican Republic's Wilson Angulo got control of the ball when Von Ramirez tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 60th minute of the match, Von Ramirez tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Wilson Angulo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Von Ramirez came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the USA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Von Ramirez couldn't finish the play. Von Ramirez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wilson Angulo having to make a save. Wilson Angulo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Von Ramirez in the 62nd minute of the match. When the match clock showed 65 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Von Ramirez sped through Dominican Republic's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Wilson Angulo. Wilson Angulo made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Rufus Chacon sent off a good shot on target. Denis Barrett kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. USA made a substitution. Miles Medrano replaced Lucas Aparicio. USA's Mason McGraw was substituted for Myles Randall. Wilson Angulo had great luck who in the 79thth minute grab hold of the ball when Fernando Carrero from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. USA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Yong Kay in the 81st minute. Yong Kay made a great header on USA's corner, it was just that Dominican Republic's Wilson Angulo managed to reach the ball for a save. Fernando Carrero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 87thth minute of the game Fernando Carrero who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dominican Republic's Wilson Angulo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rufus Chacon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Wilson Angulo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Dominican Republic getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Romeo Fuentes hit a great ball. Fernando Carrero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson Angulo having to interfere. Fernando Carrero might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wilson Angulo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fernando Carrero ran back to his position shaking his head. The USA players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
