U21 Denmark's Nicky Holkenfeldt was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Orville Howell in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Uzi van der Gun came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the U21 Denmark fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Uzi van der Gun couldn't finish the play. A collision led to U21 United States getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Genaro Martin hit a great ball. 19 minutes into the match, U21 Denmark's goal looked a bit too open when Joshua Wyatt came free, but Theodor Skarnvad reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tin Tins short, quick shot in the 28thth minute got Theodor Skarnvad to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Orville Howell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicky Holkenfeldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. 38 minutes into the match, U21 Denmark's goalkeeper Theodor Skarnvad had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tin Tin. After a rather tough play, U21 Denmark's Torben Fjelde got a free kick in the 40th minute. 42 minutes into the match, U21 Denmark's goal looked a bit too open when Tin Tin came free, but Theodor Skarnvad reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, U21 Denmark's goalkeeper Theodor Skarnvad had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tin Tin. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Gunnsteinn van der Gun was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 57 minutes into the match. If Tin Tin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Orville Howell made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bobby Heglsgaard in the 62nd minute. Theodor Skarnvad made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tin Tin in the 67th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tin Tin in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Theodor Skarnvad saved U21 Denmark from getting behind. After having played for 75 minutes, Tin Tin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 United States's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tin Tin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. U21 Denmark's Alex Eenholt was substituted for Nicky Holkenfeldt. U21 United States's Bennett Westbrook was substituted for Tin Tin. U21 Denmark's Jochum Hanlov was substituted for Osvald Kimchi. 82 minutes into the match, Rodrigo Tang had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Theodor Skarnvad. U21 Denmark's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rodrigo Tang was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. The supporters of U21 United States booed when U21 Denmark was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rudolf Hoelgaard didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 87th minute, Bennett Westbrook got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bennett Westbrook struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Theodor Skarnvad didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 United States. In the 92nd minute, Claude Park left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 United States fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. U21 United States had won after a very even match.
