With an extended leg and a bit of luck Doncho Nolev prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 11 minutes into the match, U21 Bulgaria's goal looked a bit too open when Nicky Holkenfeldt came free, but Doncho Nolev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When U21 Denmark's Uzi van der Gun in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye U21 Bulgaria's goalie prevented a goal. Doncho Nolev made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bobby Heglsgaard in the 15th minute. Theodor Skarnvad showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gergin Kerkenyakov, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. U21 Bulgaria's Doncho Nolev proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save U21 Bulgaria from getting a goal against them. 35 minutes into the match, U21 Bulgaria's Alek Balov sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Theodor Skarnvad narrowly saved just below the crossbar. U21 Bulgaria's Tzvyatko Michkov was substituted for Gergin Kerkenyakov. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tzvyatko Michkov to strike the kick off in the second half. Genadi Bozhilski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Theodor Skarnvad having to interfere. Doncho Nolev came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Denmark's Uzi van der Gun. But to his dismay, Uzi van der Gun quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 2-1 became the score in the 60th minute when Bobby Heglsgaard elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. U21 Denmark's Bobby Heglsgaard got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fritz Bumbek hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Tzvyatko Michkov might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Theodor Skarnvad. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tzvyatko Michkov ran back to his position shaking his head. U21 Bulgaria's Yanek Karachorov was substituted for Gabriel Chuklev. Theodor Skarnvad took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tzvyatko Michkov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tzvyatko Michkov in the 73rd minute of play forced U21 Denmark's goalkeeper Theodor Skarnvad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to U21 Bulgaria getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Evstati Evdokiev hit a great ball. In the 82nd minute, Bone Latinov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 86th match minute, U21 Bulgaria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vladislav Romanov to maneuver through the defense. In the 89th minute Yanek Karachorov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Theodor Skarnvad saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Theodor Skarnvad made an important save on a dangerous shot by Evtim Bandrov in the 95th minute. U21 Denmark's Bobby Heglsgaard got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew the final whistle, U21 Denmark could leave the field as winners, despite U21 Bulgaria having more of the ball for most of the match.
