Belmiro Loyola came free with the goalkeeper in the 10th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Emil Aldulea could save by the left post. In the 11th minute of the match U21 Chile got a corner. U21 Romania's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jonatan Villacosta ran over to the corner to take the kick. Emil Aldulea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kojiro Hyuga, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 15 minutes into the game, when Mădălin Chilian put in a rough tackle. Emil Aldulea had in the 16thth minute some difficulties stopping Jonatan Villacosta's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. U21 Romania's Emil Aldulea proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Romania from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gheorghe Glodeanu in the 22nd minute of play forced U21 Chile's goalkeeper Ricart Eyzaguirre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the U21 Chile defense, Gheorghe Glodeanu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricart Eyzaguirre. The U21 Chile fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricart Eyzaguirre should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernest Nedelcu in the 24th minute of play forced U21 Chile's goalkeeper Ricart Eyzaguirre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th match minute, U21 Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hanamichi Sakuragi to maneuver through the defense. Belmiro Loyola came free with the goalkeeper in the 33rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Emil Aldulea could save by the left post. Ernest Nedelcu struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Ricart Eyzaguirre didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Romania. When Jason Pierce fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Chile's protests and gave Jason Pierce a yellow card for diving instead. 38 minutes into the game, one of U21 Chile:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 40th minute there was a penalty for U21 Romania. Sergiu Jușcă stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ricart Eyzaguirre. 0-2. Horea Zgaroi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricart Eyzaguirre having to interfere. The U21 Chile players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. U21 Romania were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ernest Nedelcu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes U21 Chile got a freekick which was hit by Marco Verratti. 54 minutes into the game, Gheorghe Glodeanu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Ricart Eyzaguirre was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Emil Aldulea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kojiro Hyuga in the 57th minute of play. A collision led to U21 Romania getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Ernest Nedelcu hit a great ball. In the 67th minute Belmiro Loyola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emil Aldulea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 68th minute, U21 Romania's Ernest Nedelcu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. Ricart Eyzaguirre made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Gheorghe Glodeanu sent off a good shot on target. Alesandro De Smet d`Olbecke tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Ricart Eyzaguirre. An unnecessary self made goal, 0-5 in the 75th minute. U21 Chile:s Ricart Eyzaguirre showed great skill when he stopped Sergiu Jușcă:s penalty. The excitement rose when U21 Romania's Sergiu Jușcă after 80 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for U21 Chile's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 0-6. Ricart Eyzaguirre made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ernest Nedelcu in the 86th minute. Jonatan Villacosta kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Ricart Eyzaguirre came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Romania's Ion Oblemenco. But to his dismay, Ion Oblemenco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-7. A collision led to U21 Chile getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Hanamichi Sakuragi hit a great ball. After having played for 95 minutes, Kojiro Hyuga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Chile's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kojiro Hyuga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emil Aldulea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kojiro Hyuga, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute.
