Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Croatia's Mijat Kresić played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miromir Prosowski in the 18th minute of play. In the 19th minute Poland were awarded a corner. Boruc Fiszer went to the cornerflag to take it. Boruc Fiszer made a great header on Poland's corner, it was just that Croatia's Mijat Kresić managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 27th minute, Damian Wyrostek left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Poland fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 31st minute of the match Croatia got a corner. Poland's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ferenc Puskás ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Ferenc Puskás got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Kacper Pionek quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Mijat Kresić didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Damian Wyrostek went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damian Wyrostek in the 38th minute of play forced Croatia's goalkeeper Mijat Kresić to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jure Salzer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Kacper Pionek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Croatia getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Dobriša Poslek hit a great ball. Croatia's Mijat Kresić played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damian Wyrostek in the 44th minute of play.

Norbert Cieliczka charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
