Zak Lam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pepe Williams in the 33rd minute of the match. Albert Ee succeeded in the game's 75th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. Costa Rica's Bennie Fonseca was substituted for Donald Campos. Singapore made a substitution. Hamir Sarangapani replaced Albert Ee. Singapore's Amir Lam was substituted for Rudy Hoe. Costa Rica made a substitution. Rafael Azofeifa replaced Agustín Fonseca. Costa Rica's Lucas Alfaro was substituted for Alberto Arrieta. The audience was convinced that Pepe Williams's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zak Lam was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pepe Williams in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zak Lam saved Singapore from getting behind. 88 minutes into the match, Hamir Sarangapani notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Costa Rica's Gilberto Viquez. Gilberto Viquez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Lucas Alfaro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 91stth minute tested the skills of Zak Lam when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Zak Lam showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pepe Williams, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Amir Lam hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Singapore had played much better football throughout.
