The crowd rose to their feet as Chile's Javier Andueza slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jamar Valencia. That made the score 1-0 after 42 minutes of play. Jamar Valencia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Javier Andueza in the 47th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rufus Chacon made a kick off. Chile's Honorato Pardow proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Chile from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as USA's Rufus Chacon slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Honorato Pardow. That made the score 1-1 after 89 minutes of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rufus Chacon got free with Honorato Pardow in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Chile supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching USA's performance. The match ended with a win for USA.
