Tasos Christidis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clayton Tabone in the 90th minute of play. Malta were awarded a corner in the 92th minute after Greece's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Robert Platamone took the corner. After taking down the ball on Malta's corner Robert Platamone fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Tasos Christidis quite easily take care of the ball. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Malta's goalkeeper Cleaven Trevisan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 95th minute, Thomas Adamatos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Greece fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0.
