The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Armando Aleixo during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of U21 China booed when U21 Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Aleixo didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, U21 Portugal's Daniel Ferreira got control of the ball when 李潮希 tried to sneak it across the goal line. 11 minutes into the match, U21 China's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Aleixo came free, but 崔骋崇 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jardel Coluna in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg 崔骋崇 saved U21 China from getting behind. A throw-in in the 14th minute of the game was made by 范翀博 with Min 梅西 as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 16 minutes into the match, U21 China's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Aleixo came free, but 崔骋崇 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 17th minute, Jardel Coluna ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. 崔骋崇 was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Jardel Coluna's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but 崔骋崇 read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Carlos Moniz got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 0-2. 24 minutes into the match. After 31 minutes U21 Portugal's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Julian Draxler who took care of the corner kick. U21 China's Julian Draxler was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Daniel Ferreira in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Daniel Ferreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Banan Shevchenko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. U21 China's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Julian Draxler in the 34th minute. After taking down the ball on U21 China's corner Julian Draxler fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Daniel Ferreira quite easily take care of the ball. In the 44th minute, 李潮希 got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Banan Shevchenko stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 李潮希 received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Daniel Ferreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Banan Shevchenko recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Ferreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Banan Shevchenko, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. After a rather tough play, U21 Portugal's Fábio Martins got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 70th minute, Carlos Moniz reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of 崔骋崇. The goal made the score 0-3. U21 Portugal made a substitution. Diamantino Barbosa replaced Rodrigo Monteiro. After 78 played minutes U21 Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Moniz. U21 China made a substitution. 贺梁飞 replaced Banan Shevchenko. U21 China's 胡政泉 was substituted for Min 梅西. In the 79th match minute, U21 Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Moniz to maneuver through the defense. 胡政泉 blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Daniel Ferreira having to make a save. With a little luck, U21 China's 崔骋崇 got control of the ball when Armindo Tavares tried to sneak it across the goal line. Daniel Ferreira came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 China's 贺梁飞. But to his dismay, 贺梁飞 quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched U21 Portugal eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
