The mood of the audience was pleasant when Johnny Strömbom made the kick off which started today's match. U21 Poland were awarded a corner in the 7th minute after U21 Sweden's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Milosz Bilicki took the corner. Radoslaw Kojder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tommy Gadd in the 9th minute of the match. 10 minutes into the match, Adam Kosmatka had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bernt Hedvall. U21 Sweden's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adam Kosmatka was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Johnny Strömbom fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Radoslaw Kojder having to interfere. After 22 minutes U21 Sweden's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Milosz Bilicki who took care of the corner kick. Johnny Strömbom could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Radoslaw Kojder made a huge save. If Zerem Jest had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 26 minutes into the match, U21 Sweden's goal looked a bit too open when Adam Kosmatka came free, but Bernt Hedvall reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Adam Kosmatka put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Bernt Hedvall. A collision led to U21 Sweden getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Peter Ahlén hit a great ball. 37 minutes into the match, U21 Sweden's goal looked a bit too open when Adam Kosmatka came free, but Bernt Hedvall reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Zerem Jest came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the U21 Poland fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zerem Jest couldn't finish the play. U21 Sweden's Bernt Hedvall played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adam Kosmatka in the 42nd minute of play. In the 43rd minute Ryszard Ludwa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernt Hedvall saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tommy Gadd recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Florian Simonsson fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Sweden's protests and gave Florian Simonsson a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to U21 Sweden getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Florian Simonsson hit a great ball. U21 Sweden made a substitution. Sten Lustig replaced Tommy Gadd. After 48 played minutes U21 Sweden got a freekick which was hit by Florian Simonsson. An unexpectedly hard shot by Milosz Bilicki in the 49th minute of play forced U21 Sweden's goalkeeper Bernt Hedvall to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half U21 Poland were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

If Sten Lustig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61st match minute, U21 Poland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bogumil Mierzwa to maneuver through the defense. When the match clock showed 67 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Zerem Jest sped through U21 Sweden's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bernt Hedvall. In the 72nd minute Sten Lustig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Radoslaw Kojder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. U21 Poland's Radoslaw Kojder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sten Lustig in the 74th minute of play. Milosz Bilicki kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. U21 Poland's Klement Klimkiewicz was substituted for Slawomir Naumowicz. U21 Poland's Radomil Brudzisz was substituted for Adam Kosmatka. Milosz Bilicki hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Radomil Brudzisz in the 80th minute of play forced U21 Sweden's goalkeeper Bernt Hedvall to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Radomil Brudzisz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bernt Hedvall was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. With a little luck, U21 Sweden's Bernt Hedvall got control of the ball when Radomil Brudzisz tried to sneak it across the goal line. 85 minutes into the match, Radomil Brudzisz notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of U21 Sweden's Bernt Hedvall. Bernt Hedvall was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 87 played minutes U21 Sweden got a freekick which was hit by Peter Ahlén. Bernt Hedvall acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 88th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Milosz Bilicki. After a rather tough play, U21 Poland's Bogumil Mierzwa got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Ralf-Bertil Larsson made a great header on U21 Sweden's corner, it was just that U21 Poland's Radoslaw Kojder managed to reach the ball for a save.
