Gancho Choroleev hit a great ball. Albert Shatov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leo Nell, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Georgi Asparuhov took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilson Angulo. Dominican Republic made a substitution. Runelvys Bolaños replaced Edwar Aguirre. Wilson Angulo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Georgi Asparuhov in the 79th minute of play. If Gancho Choroleev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dominican Republic made a substitution. Pepe Alkorta replaced Julián Núñez. When Leo Nell came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Dominican Republic fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leo Nell couldn't finish the play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 95 minutes into the game, when Tzvyatko Grebenarov put in a rough tackle. In the 94th minute, one of Bulgaria:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Bulgaria. Bulgaria:s Albert Shatov showed great skill when he stopped Leo Nell:s penalty.
