Naike Abalos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chorache Tofiño in the 12th minute of play. In the 15th minute Liviu Cezar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Naike Abalos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Martin Tudor was out of position in the 16 minute of play, and Ponciano Abarca capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ponciano Abarca really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Martin Tudor made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Fernando Abar sent off a good shot on target. Through an outstanding action, after 22 minutes, Martin Tudor successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The referee felt a red card was in order, 23 minutes into the game, when Marcelo Carballo put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 22nd minute of the game. One of Bolivia:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Progresul Pitesti:s goal. The referee gave Progresul Pitesti a penalty, 26 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Florin Logofătu, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Bolivia's Naike Abalos. 1-1. Naike Abalos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karol Czempa, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Progresul Pitesti's Martin Tudor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Argoitz Abeijon in the 36th minute of play. Bolivia were awarded a corner in the 40th minute after Progresul Pitesti's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luis Mendez took the corner. The corner ended in Luis Mendez almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Progresul Pitesti's Martin Tudor did a great save. Progresul Pitesti were furious when Mincho Stoev was red carded, 46 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 47 played minutes Progresul Pitesti got a freekick which was hit by Mincho Stoev.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Karol Czempa to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Progresul Pitesti's goal looked a bit too open when John Abancens came free, but Martin Tudor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bolivia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Argoitz Abeijon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Martin Tudor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claude Abecia in the 64th minute of the match. Bolivia's John Abancens got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 76thth minute of the game Karol Czempa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bolivia's Naike Abalos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Martin Tudor dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 90th minute, Boyde Palmington hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Argoitz Abeijon in the 92nd minute of play forced Progresul Pitesti's goalkeeper Martin Tudor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Progresul Pitesti's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
