The audience thought a goal was coming when Marek Hamšík got free with Fokke Meijeringh in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fokke Meijeringh made an important save on a dangerous shot by Olavs Eliass in the 17th minute. Leons Gudrenieks could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Fokke Meijeringh made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Inácio Amaral in the 24th minute of play forced FC Iecēni's goalkeeper Piotr Tworek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Inácio Amaral had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Piotr Tworek. FC Iecēni's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Inácio Amaral was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Fokke Meijeringh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viktors Behmans in the 26th minute of the match. Marek Hamšík succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 30th playminute. De Kasteelheren's Fokke Meijeringh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viktors Behmans in the 35th minute of play. The supporters of FC Iecēni booed when De Kasteelheren was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hayden Hoebe didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Inácio Amaral made a kick off. Piotr Tworek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ferdi Vorenkamp, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marek Hamšík in the 57th minute of play forced De Kasteelheren's goalkeeper Fokke Meijeringh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57thth minute of the game Marek Hamšík who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but De Kasteelheren's Fokke Meijeringh was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viktors Behmans in the 58th minute of play forced De Kasteelheren's goalkeeper Fokke Meijeringh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to De Kasteelheren getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Anthony Hillen hit a great ball. Inácio Amaral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 63 minutes into the match, De Kasteelheren's goal looked a bit too open when Marek Hamšík came free, but Fokke Meijeringh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hayden Hoebe hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. In the 67th minute of the match Leons Gudrenieks sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fokke Meijeringh skillfully saved the ball. 72 minutes into the match, De Kasteelheren's goal looked a bit too open when Uvis Svitiņš came free, but Fokke Meijeringh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of FC Iecēni booed when De Kasteelheren was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferdi Vorenkamp didn't get a good kick on the ball. De Kasteelheren's Dante Martinelli was substituted for Harold Rodenboog. After a rather tough play, De Kasteelheren's Ferdi Vorenkamp got a free kick in the 81st minute. Piotr Tworek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferdi Vorenkamp in the 87th minute of the match. When Inácio Amaral came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the De Kasteelheren fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Inácio Amaral couldn't finish the play. Fokke Meijeringh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marek Hamšík in the 90th minute of play. Piotr Tworek was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Inácio Amaral showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 92 minute of play. In the 95th minute, Gints Lielgalvis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
