In the 21st minute Eugeniusz Cwojdak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rune Jarstein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wilhelm Nienhaus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rune Jarstein showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roberto Carlos in the 25th minute of the match. Slavyan Gusev made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Paulo da Silva in the 67th minute of play forced FC Rogers Sosnowiec's goalkeeper Slavyan Gusev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 69 minutes, Rune Jarstein successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 70 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hertha 1969's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Thanks to some nice moves Randolph Eubanks could shoot a difficult shot in the 80th minute, which Rune Jarstein however easily saved by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rupert Heidingsfelder in the 83rd minute of play forced FC Rogers Sosnowiec's goalkeeper Slavyan Gusev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ksawery Bielatowicz was shown his second yellow card after 83 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 84th minute, Ksawery Bielatowicz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rupert Heidingsfelder in the 89th minute of play forced FC Rogers Sosnowiec's goalkeeper Slavyan Gusev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Slavyan Gusev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kristian Oswald, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Rune Jarstein made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Eugeniusz Cwojdak sent off a good shot on target. Kristian Oswald recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Hertha 1969 had won after a very even match.
