With a little luck, Real Cartagena's Edwin Devine got control of the ball when Andy Cole tried to sneak it across the goal line. Egun Pais came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Real Cartagena's Harris Geraets. But to his dismay, Harris Geraets quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Andy Cole received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Edwin Devine came out and tried to block the shot, but Andy Cole slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 32nd minute. Real Cartagena's Edwin Devine proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Real Cartagena from getting a goal against them. Andy Cole could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Edwin Devine made a huge save. After some careless play in the Real Cartagena defense, Andy Cole kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edwin Devine. The Real Cartagena fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edwin Devine should have stopped the shot. When Gustavo Gomez fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Real Cartagena's protests and gave Gustavo Gomez a yellow card for diving instead. After 47 played minutes Real Cartagena got a freekick which was hit by Gustavo Gomez.

Alto Muro kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. Egun Pais made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chus Ayarza in the 53rd minute of play. Jerzy Zjawin struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Edwin Devine didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Floresta Negra FC. After 57 minutes, Andy Cole made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. Real Cartagena's Edwin Devine tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 64th match minute, Real Cartagena was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustavo Gomez to maneuver through the defense. Andy Cole took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edwin Devine. Edwin Devine dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Egun Pais took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chus Ayarza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Floresta Negra FC's Egun Pais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roderick Blind in the 79th minute of play. Egun Pais was a little too slow when Harris Geraets got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 79th minute. The score was now 4-2. 89 minutes into the match, Floresta Negra FC's goalkeeper Egun Pais had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Harris Geraets. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andy Cole in the 93rd minute of play forced Real Cartagena's goalkeeper Edwin Devine to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Floresta Negra FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
