After 3 minutes of play, Merusca F&P's Deyver Sonn made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Betão Paraíba was left in no man's land by his defense there! 6 minutes into the match, Deyver Sonn notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Sprite Star Football's Betão Paraíba. Betão Paraíba was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 11 minutes into the game, Fabinho Berger recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Betão Paraíba. Fabinho Berger showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. Raúl Cabral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christiano Ramalho in the 16th minute of the match. After 17 minutes of play, Merusca F&P's Deyver Sonn made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Betão Paraíba was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Deyver Sonn in the 27th minute of play forced Sprite Star Football's goalkeeper Betão Paraíba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute, Eric Burdon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sprite Star Football's Betão Paraíba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Deyver Sonn in the 31st minute of play. Merusca F&P's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Pedro Gaspar in the 33rd minute. The corner led Merusca F&P's Deyver Sonn to fire away a dangerous shot which Betão Paraíba despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Merusca F&P's Deyver Sonn sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Betão Paraíba narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Deyver Sonn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Merusca F&P's supporters rose to their feet, but Deyver Sonn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Betão Paraíba breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sprite Star Football's Betão Paraíba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Deyver Sonn in the 44th minute of play. Fabinho Berger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Deyver Sonn made a kick off. If Christiano Ramalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 53rd minute, Deyver Sonn left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Merusca F&P fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Merusca F&P's Raúl Cabral proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Merusca F&P from getting a goal against them. Merusca F&P's Betinho Romagnoli got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Merusca F&P booed when Sprite Star Football was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Monge Mong didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bebeto Trevisan's late challenge caught a Merusca F&P's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bebeto Trevisan helped the player get up and apologised. Merusca F&P made a substitution. Álvaro Pernambucano replaced Fabinho Berger. In the 63rd minute, Bebeto Trevisan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 63rd minute, Sérgio das Neves ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Betão Paraíba was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. Bebeto Trevisan was shown his second yellow card after 68 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Merusca F&P's Walmir Pontes was substituted for Betinho Romagnoli. Sprite Star Football made a substitution. Daniel Montenegro replaced Monge Mong. When Sérgio das Neves came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Merusca F&P fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sérgio das Neves couldn't finish the play. Raúl Cabral made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Daniel Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. 75 minutes into the match, Sprite Star Football's goal looked a bit too open when Sérgio das Neves came free, but Betão Paraíba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Sérgio das Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. Merusca F&P's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
