Supremacy Catania FC's Fan Xi Hong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nick Heesen in the 5th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nick Heesen in the 8th minute of play forced Supremacy Catania FC's goalkeeper Fan Xi Hong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 10th minute Nick Heesen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fan Xi Hong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 12 minutes into the match, Ágætis Byrjun's goal looked a bit too open when Cesare Maestri came free, but Georg Hagberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Supremacy Catania FC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Fabian Emesto hit a great ball. Georg Hagberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cesare Maestri in the 22nd minute of play. The supporters of Ágætis Byrjun booed when Supremacy Catania FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesare Maestri didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute Nick Heesen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fan Xi Hong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nick Heesen received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Fan Xi Hong came out and tried to block the shot, but Nick Heesen slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 33rd minute. Georg Hagberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from İldeniz Turatekin in the 35th minute of play. In the 36th minute İldeniz Turatekin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Georg Hagberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ágætis Byrjun's attentive Alain Roche managed to snatch the ball when Amerigo Costanzo made a throw-in in the 38th minute of the game. Fan Xi Hong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nick Heesen in the 44th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell İldeniz Turatekin to make the kick off. Georg Hagberg made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Cesare Maestri sent off a good shot on target. After 60 played minutes Supremacy Catania FC got a freekick which was hit by Ramón Porto. An unexpectedly hard shot by İldeniz Turatekin in the 68th minute of play forced Ágætis Byrjun's goalkeeper Georg Hagberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Supremacy Catania FC defense, Nick Heesen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fan Xi Hong. The Supremacy Catania FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fan Xi Hong should have stopped the shot. Supremacy Catania FC's Raimundo Espírito Santo was substituted for İldeniz Turatekin. Supremacy Catania FC made a substitution. Franco Lizzi replaced Amerigo Costanzo. The crowd rose to their feet as Supremacy Catania FC's Carter Barillari slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Georg Hagberg. That made the score 3-1 after 85 minutes of play. The audience was convinced that Ramón Porto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Georg Hagberg was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ágætis Byrjun fans cheered their team off the field, for while Supremacy Catania FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
