In the 7th minute Geovanildo Luis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egun Pais saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 9 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Geovanildo Luis sped through Floresta Negra FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Egun Pais. Haji Sarap took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vito Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edson de Lima got a throw-in 20 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Andy Cole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Geovanildo Luis got free with Egun Pais in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 31 minutes into the match, Joinville City - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Andy Cole came free, but Haji Sarap reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Floresta Negra FC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Gernando Rocha hit a great ball. 2-0 became the score in the 32nd minute when Geovanildo Luis elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Geovanildo Luis might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Egun Pais. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Geovanildo Luis ran back to his position shaking his head. 35 minutes into the match, Floresta Negra FC's goalkeeper Egun Pais had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Geovanildo Luis. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andy Cole in the 40th minute of play forced Joinville City - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Haji Sarap to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Geovanildo Luis made a kick off. Egun Pais showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geovanildo Luis in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 55th minute of the match Joinville City - FSCMZ got a corner. Floresta Negra FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Henrique Camargo ran over to the corner to take the kick. Andy Cole could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Haji Sarap made a huge save. After 61 played minutes Floresta Negra FC got a freekick which was hit by Gernando Rocha. Joinville City - FSCMZ's Adhemar Santos was substituted for Geovanildo Luis. Joinville City - FSCMZ made a substitution. Horácio Abraão replaced Ronaldinho Gaucho. Gernando Rocha kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. In the 70th minute, Horácio Abraão ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Egun Pais was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Egun Pais stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adhemar Santos's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. In the 79th minute, Jerzy Zjawin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Floresta Negra FC's Egun Pais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adhemar Santos in the 84th minute of play. Egun Pais showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adhemar Santos in the 91st minute of the match. Hector Bazkoare's late challenge caught a Joinville City - FSCMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hector Bazkoare helped the player get up and apologised.

For all the effort they put into the match, the Floresta Negra FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Joinville City - FSCMZ.
