After a rather tough play, Pueblo FC's Mohammed Flanagan got a free kick in the 39th minute. In the 44th minute, Vern Wright left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pueblo FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Luis Alberto Suárez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Boyd Winkler read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luis Alberto Suárez was the one to do the kick off. Putra Rewulu's Asmadi Subagio was substituted for Wong Eadan.
