Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) In the 2nd minute, Owen Grech Cumbo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Malta fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 5th minute, Lin Shi Bin made a precise shot to the right of Peter Paul Mercieca. Malta's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Tome Usel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Owen Grech Cumbo in the 9th minute of play. In the 11th minute, Owen Grech Cumbo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 14th minute, Mike Axisa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Union Lara FC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Lei Fei Song hit a great ball. Owen Grech Cumbo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Tome Usel made a huge save. Malta's Peter Paul Mercieca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lin Shi Bin in the 19th minute of play. Tome Usel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Samuel Griffin in the 21st minute. Owen Grech Cumbo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Malta getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Mike Axisa hit a great ball. Union Lara FC's Alfredo Guardia got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Malta fans' excitement grew in the 28th match minute when Malta's Owen Grech Cumbo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 32nd minute Lin Shi Bin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Paul Mercieca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tome Usel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Owen Grech Cumbo in the 33rd minute of the match. Peter Paul Mercieca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lin Shi Bin, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. 45 minutes into the match, Alfredo Guardia notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Malta's Peter Paul Mercieca. Peter Paul Mercieca was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Owen Grech Cumbo to strike the kick off in the second half. Kaiet Agustin kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. Tome Usel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Owen Grech Cumbo, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. After having played for 71 minutes, Owen Grech Cumbo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Malta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Owen Grech Cumbo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tome Usel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuel Griffin in the 74th minute of play. In the 76th minute of the match Malta got a corner. Union Lara FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jean Carl Cassar Torreggiani ran over to the corner to take the kick. Tome Usel came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Malta's Owen Grech Cumbo. But to his dismay, Owen Grech Cumbo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. Tome Usel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Owen Grech Cumbo in the 85th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Lin Shi Bin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Peter Paul Mercieca. That made the score 4-3 in the 86 minute of play. When Owen Grech Cumbo came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Malta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Owen Grech Cumbo couldn't finish the play. In the 95th minute Txerran Velasco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Paul Mercieca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
