The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Xiao Yu Chao to strike the kick off in the second half. The Brufoss IL fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leif Opdal should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Brufoss IL's zone, Robert Collen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leif Opdal came out of the goal and Robert Collen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Uğuralp Vasfi made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Nils-Arne Bruvik sent off a good shot on target. In the 98th minute Robert Collen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leif Opdal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Nils-Arne Bruvik kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Uğuralp Vasfi. That made the score 5-1 in the 99 minute of play.

Brufoss IL's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
