In the 26th minute, Albino Aimar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Caetano Toscano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Diego Melendez was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. In the 43rd minute, Tony Vianna left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Barcellos Mineiro FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Caetano Toscano scored 3-0 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Diego Melendez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Caetano Toscano was the one to do the kick off. Diego Melendez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guilherme Peres in the 56th minute of the match. In the 58th minute Caetano Toscano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Melendez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Santos de Buenos Aires FC's goalkeeper Diego Melendez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 88th minute, Rodrigo Calvet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Santos de Buenos Aires FC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Barcellos Mineiro FC fully deserved thier win.
