An unexpectedly hard shot by Kustaa Esala in the 17th minute of play forced Wyszyny's goalkeeper Robert Kaczanka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wyszyny's Kajetan Turek managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Stelian Berceanu in the 19 minute of the game. 19 minutes into the match, Liverpool FC's goal looked a bit too open when Teofil Kosowski came free, but Olli Lehtilä reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
