Edward Watarz replaced Adam Buksa. FC St. Pauli's attentive José Maria Ceresso managed to snatch the ball when Beniamin Robak made a throw-in in the 84th minute of the game. If Bernard Iwaszko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Maria Ceresso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zygmunt Kasperowicz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Watarz in the 92nd minute of play forced FC St. Pauli's goalkeeper Serginho Botelho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The FC St. Pauli players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
