Gianluigi Buffon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodolfo Porfirio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rodolfo Porfirio might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gianluigi Buffon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rodolfo Porfirio ran back to his position shaking his head. Gianluigi Buffon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodolfo Porfirio, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Osvaldo Cantero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rodolfo Porfirio to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Defensores del Tiki Tiki's goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rodolfo Porfirio. An unexpectedly hard shot by Justino Kaxen in the 58th minute of play forced Pianello del Lario FC's goalkeeper Fredrik Stokland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pianello del Lario FC made a substitution. Paolo Balendin replaced Teobaldo Ermano. Rodolfo Porfirio took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gianluigi Buffon. Gianluigi Buffon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. The supporters of Defensores del Tiki Tiki booed when Pianello del Lario FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Maurino didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 97th minute, Rafael Casanova got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fredrik Stokland came out of the goal in the 98th minute to try and stop a shot by Defensores del Tiki Tiki's Pawel Wolnik. But to his dismay, Pawel Wolnik quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Defensores del Tiki Tiki fans cheered their team off the field, for while Pianello del Lario FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
