In the 3rd minute Jules Boggs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fernando Linares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 6th match minute, Burriss was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abe Atwood to maneuver through the defense. In the 8th match minute, Ostrália was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henrique Negri to maneuver through the defense. Abdel Karim Hanister made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sílvio Luiz Fernandes in the 9th minute of play. A collision led to Burriss getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. In the 17th minute, Abe Atwood ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luiz Fernando Linares was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After 19 played minutes Ostrália got a freekick which was hit by Chicão Alvarenga. Luiz Fernando Linares acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 20th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Truman Hinton. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jules Boggs got free with Luiz Fernando Linares in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chicão Alvarenga in the 30th minute of play forced Burriss's goalkeeper Abdel Karim Hanister to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner ended in Michal Osikowicz almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Burriss's Abdel Karim Hanister did a great save. Abe Atwood's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luiz Fernando Linares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. A collision led to Ostrália getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Michal Osikowicz hit a great ball. Truman Hinton took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 34th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Luiz Fernando Linares. Ostrália's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Abdel Karim Hanister showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chicão Alvarenga in the 36th minute of the match. Abe Atwood's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Luiz Fernando Linares firmly grabbed it by the left post. Sílvio Luiz Fernandes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdel Karim Hanister having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sílvio Luiz Fernandes made a kick off. In the 53rd match minute, Ostrália was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chiquinho de Amaral to maneuver through the defense. Merle Pendleton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Fernando Linares having to interfere. Abdel Karim Hanister made an important save on a dangerous shot by Chicão Alvarenga in the 59th minute. After 61 minutes, Josué Freitas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ostrália and the Burriss players grew even worse after the yellow card. Burriss made a substitution. Frederick Guay replaced Papillion Cole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abe Atwood in the 69th minute of play forced Ostrália's goalkeeper Luiz Fernando Linares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luiz Fernando Linares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jules Boggs, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dudu Varela in the 80th minute of play forced Burriss's goalkeeper Abdel Karim Hanister to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Abdel Karim Hanister took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dudu Varela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Narciso Proença in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Abdel Karim Hanister saved Burriss from getting behind. Abdel Karim Hanister showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Narciso Proença in the 93rd minute of the match. 96 minutes into the game, Ostrália's Narciso Proença nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Abdel Karim Hanister made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. Burriss's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
