The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Ulisses Sabóia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Enéas Pereira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Emerald defense, Ulisses Sabóia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sandu Alungulesei. The Emerald fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sandu Alungulesei should have stopped the shot. 10 minutes into the match, Emerald's goal looked a bit too open when Cláudio Pimenta came free, but Sandu Alungulesei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 11th minute Pompiliu Uncheşelu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elói Miranda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Adam Druga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A well-hit corner resulted in Trifon Ivanov heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After a rather tough play, Emerald's Trifon Ivanov got a free kick in the 19th minute. Faustino Gerazan scored 0-2 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sandu Alungulesei, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Elói Miranda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victor Piţurcă in the 26th minute of the match. Pompiliu Uncheşelu charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pompiliu Uncheşelu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Pompiliu Uncheşelu hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adam Druga during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Cláudio Pimenta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 45th match minute, Emerald was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandu Goșa to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Andrei Alexandrescu was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute of the match SALIMEN got a corner. Emerald's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Saturnino Gartzea ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on SALIMEN's corner Saturnino Gartzea fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Sandu Alungulesei quite easily take care of the ball. In the 57th minute, Victor Piţurcă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 58 minutes into the match, Emerald's goalkeeper Sandu Alungulesei had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ulisses Sabóia. In the 60th minute SALIMEN were awarded a corner. Saturnino Gartzea went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to SALIMEN's Faustino Gerazan getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Ulisses Sabóia in the 67thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sandu Alungulesei, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. SALIMEN made a substitution. İldeniz Davutoğlu replaced Ulisses Sabóia. SALIMEN made a substitution. Rony Eger replaced Saturnino Gartzea. The crowd rose to their feet as SALIMEN's İldeniz Davutoğlu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sandu Alungulesei. That made the score 0-3 after 71 minutes of play. SALIMEN's Ronaldão Novaes was substituted for Enéas Pereira. Emerald's Sandu Alungulesei proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Emerald from getting a goal against them. Elói Miranda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrei Alexandrescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Sandu Alungulesei took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from İldeniz Davutoğlu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 83 minutes Emerald's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rony Eger who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Rony Eger almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Emerald's Sandu Alungulesei did a great save. In the 84th minute, Meng Xi Di hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Andrei Alexandrescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Elói Miranda made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. The SALIMEN supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SALIMEN would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
