Alvaro Tiniebra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Tayfun Tanfer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, Juan Urti ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tayfun Tanfer was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. In the 47thth minute of the game Severiano Jeraldo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but MarineerS FK's Tayfun Tanfer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Severiano Jeraldo was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Miguel Godoy got free with Tayfun Tanfer in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. MarineerS FK's Tayfun Tanfer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save MarineerS FK from getting a goal against them. Juan Urti's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tayfun Tanfer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. 1989 Blxsk's Honorio Birjaio was substituted for Remigio Torres. 1989 Blxsk made a substitution.
