In the 15thth minute of the game Barhart Costello who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vulcanos's Cristiano Petito was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Barhart Costello in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cristiano Petito saved Vulcanos from getting behind. Brigid Rutherford made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Válbson Meirelles in the 18th minute of play. Cristiano Petito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pearse McWilliam, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Brigid Rutherford showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Válbson Meirelles in the 21st minute of the match. Brigid Rutherford made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Válbson Meirelles sent off a good shot on target. After 42 minutes, Pearse McWilliam mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the St. James Gate F.C. and the Vulcanos players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 42 played minutes St. James Gate F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Pearse McWilliam. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mané Pimenta to strike the kick off in the second half. Vulcanos's Cristiano Petito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barhart Costello in the 55th minute of play. 58 minutes into the match, Vulcanos's goalkeeper Cristiano Petito had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pearse McWilliam. In the 66th minute Barhart Costello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristiano Petito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 67 minutes into the game, Tipper Savic was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. St. James Gate F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vulcanos the free kick. After 67 played minutes St. James Gate F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Tipper Savic. A collision led to Vulcanos getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Israel Lages hit a great ball. 82 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vulcanos's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tipper Savic was slow to take the kick. During this time St. James Gate F.C.'s players had a chance to rest. Brigid Rutherford showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Válbson Meirelles in the 88th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Pearse McWilliam kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Cristiano Petito. That made the score 1-1 in the 92 minute of play. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Barhart Costello took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Cristiano Petito to make any attempt to save it. The St. James Gate F.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing St. James Gate F.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
