The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Celedonio Eguen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fábio Souto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 7 minutes into the match, Luiz Fábio Souto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Celedonio Eguen. Matheu City FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luiz Fábio Souto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The supporters of Barões F. C. booed when Matheu City FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aurelio Blanco didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match clock showed 10 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Nixon Richard sped through Matheu City FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Celedonio Eguen. Barões F. C.'s Júlio Baiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benito Belmiro in the 18th minute of play. The Barões F. C. fans' excitement grew in the 19th match minute when Barões F. C.'s Nixon Richard looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Júlio Baiano came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Matheu City FC's Benito Belmiro. But to his dismay, Benito Belmiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. The supporters of Barões F. Marquinhos Porto lost his temper 34 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The goalkeeper, Júlio Baiano, was totally fooled by Matheu City FC's Benito Belmiro, who 35 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Celedonio Eguen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fábio Souto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donato Paraibano in the 40th minute of play forced Matheu City FC's goalkeeper Celedonio Eguen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Barões F. C.'s Júlio Baiano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Barões F. C. from getting a goal against them. Júlio Baiano made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Ruperto Serafo sent off a good shot on target. Matheu City FC's Celedonio Eguen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donato Paraibano in the 45th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 3-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Nixon Richard hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. 52 minutes into the match, Barões F. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Vicente Marin came free, but Júlio Baiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Celedonio Eguen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from André Sampaio in the 58th minute of the match. In the 60th minute Aloísio Toscano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celedonio Eguen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Celedonio Eguen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aloísio Toscano, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Luiz Fábio Souto scored 3-5 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Celedonio Eguen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fábio Souto in the 73rd minute of play forced Matheu City FC's goalkeeper Celedonio Eguen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Barões F. C. made a substitution. Cris Batistuta replaced Luiz Fábio Souto. Barões F. C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Donato Paraibano in the 75th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Matheu City FC's goalie and right to Aloísio Toscano. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Matheu City FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Júlio Baiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruperto Serafo, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Cris Batistuta received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Celedonio Eguen came out and tried to block the shot, but Cris Batistuta slotted it home off the left post making it 3-6 in the 79th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cris Batistuta in the 82nd minute of play forced Matheu City FC's goalkeeper Celedonio Eguen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Barões F. C.'s Júlio Baiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benito Belmiro in the 83rd minute of play. After 86 played minutes Barões F. C. got a freekick which was hit by André Sampaio. Celedonio Eguen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cris Batistuta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Matheu City FC were furious when Anselmo Jenaro was red carded, 97 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee gave Barões F. C. a penalty, 99 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Donato Paraibano, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Matheu City FC's Celedonio Eguen. 3-7. When the final whistle sounded Barões F. C. left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Matheu City FC.
