Panionios MK's Alketas Bourouselos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chiquito Flores in the 5th minute of play. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Panionios MK's goalkeeper Alketas Bourouselos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 10th minute, Oliver Petersson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 17th minute Oliver Petersson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alketas Bourouselos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 18 minutes into the game, Oliver Petersson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Alketas Bourouselos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 21 minutes into the match, Rebelution's goal looked a bit too open when Themos Leontiadis came free, but Agustín Rossi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Panionios MK's goalkeeper Alketas Bourouselos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 31st minute, Oliver Petersson made a precise shot to the right of Alketas Bourouselos. Panionios MK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. 37 minutes into the match, Panionios MK's goal looked a bit too open when Oliver Petersson came free, but Alketas Bourouselos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 41 minutes into the match, Oliver Petersson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alketas Bourouselos. Panionios MK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Oliver Petersson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Panionios MK's Themos Leontiadis got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half Rebelution were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Oliver Petersson made a kick off. Alketas Bourouselos made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Chiquito Flores sent off a good shot on target. Oliver Petersson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Agustín Rossi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fanis Salepis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 65th minute Oliver Petersson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alketas Bourouselos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Panionios MK's Alketas Bourouselos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oliver Petersson in the 70th minute of play. 70 minutes in the game, Oliver Petersson dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Rebelution's Americo Frascuelo was substituted for Chiquito Flores. After 74 minutes, Stratos Karatzas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Panionios MK and the Rebelution players grew even worse after the yellow card. Stratos Karatzas hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 77th minute, Rodolfo Indartsu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Panionios MK's Alketas Bourouselos got control of the ball when Marcos Richie tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thiago Machado made in the 85th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Panionios MK's Omiros Maniatis. After having played for 86 minutes, Allan Corrigan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panionios MK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Allan Corrigan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 87 minutes into the match, Panionios MK's goal looked a bit too open when Oliver Petersson came free, but Alketas Bourouselos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Alketas Bourouselos managed to avoid a goal in the 87thth minute, when Rebelution's Dario Guib fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 92 minutes, Fanis Salepis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Panionios MK and the Rebelution players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 92nd minute, Fanis Salepis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Panionios MK fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Rebelution were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
