An unexpectedly hard shot by Graham Jolicoeur in the 10th minute of play forced FC Goodfellas's goalkeeper Jaroslaw Komanski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rd minute, Mehmet Hakkı Makbul left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Quetzal Flyers Hammers fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. 39 minutes into the match, FC Goodfellas's Raigo Vananurm sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Francesco Marines narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 47th minute Sonny Perkins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaroslaw Komanski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Quetzal Flyers Hammers were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mehmet Hakkı Makbul to strike the kick off in the second half. FC Goodfellas's Jaroslaw Komanski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save FC Goodfellas from getting a goal against them.
