Jorge Recife kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. 39 minutes into the match, Grêmio's goal looked a bit too open when Emran Akgün came free, but Rui Varela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ahmet Yahya Mesut to strike the kick off in the second half. Akşemseddin Arslangiray showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gildo Fantini in the 52nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ahmet Yahya Mesut in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rui Varela saved Grêmio from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Ahmet Yahya Mesut's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rui Varela was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. Rui Varela didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ahmet Yahya Mesut went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. 79 minutes into the match, Ahmet Yahya Mesut had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rui Varela. Grêmio's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ahmet Yahya Mesut was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Mehmet Edip Rüstem took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rui Varela. Rui Varela didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when 1stanbuL FootbaLL CluB's Mehmet Edip Rüstem shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 8-0 in the ordered_time% minute. 1stanbuL FootbaLL CluB's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
