Spectators: 157 (Terracing: 118, Seating: 36, VIP seats: 3) Lokman Sağlamtürk started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 2nd match minute, Newells Old Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bülent Ilgaz to maneuver through the defense. If Tostão Mineiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fellipe Travassos kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, América-SC F.C.'s Jaime Souza got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 9th minute Gabi Gol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mahsun Sonalp saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mahsun Sonalp took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabi Gol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12th minute of the match América-SC F.C. got a corner. Newells Old Boys's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Carlos Barros ran over to the corner to take the kick. Carlos Barros made a great header on América-SC F.C.'s corner, it was just that Newells Old Boys's Mahsun Sonalp managed to reach the ball for a save. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Jaime Souza took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Mahsun Sonalp to make any attempt to save it. Mahsun Sonalp made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabi Gol in the 22nd minute of play. Gabi Gol had several of the Newells Old Boys's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 25 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Mahsun Sonalp as he didn't even see the shot coming. Mahsun Sonalp took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabi Gol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Newells Old Boys's Mahsun Sonalp proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Newells Old Boys from getting a goal against them. Nestor Quirino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mevlüt Zeyrek's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. In the 36th minute, Jaime Souza left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The América-SC F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Mahsun Sonalp showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Souza, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Mahsun Sonalp was out of position in the 43 minute of play, and Jaime Souza capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jaime Souza really showed his touch with that goal: 4-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gabi Gol made a kick off. 53 minutes into the game, América-SC F.C.'s Gabi Gol nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mahsun Sonalp made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. After a rather tough play, Newells Old Boys's Mevlüt Zeyrek got a free kick in the 55th minute. Mahsun Sonalp made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tostão Mineiro in the 56th minute of play. América-SC F.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Carlos Barros in the 57th minute. A nice corner shot did that Carlos Barros got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Mahsun Sonalp quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Mahsun Sonalp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Souza in the 59th minute of the match. A collision led to América-SC F.C. getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Elivélton de Castro hit a great ball. Nestor Quirino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lokman Sağlamtürk in the 60th minute of the match. Gabi Gol scored 6-0 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mahsun Sonalp, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Nestor Quirino made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Mevlüt Zeyrek sent off a good shot on target. In the 70thth minute of the game Gabi Gol who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Newells Old Boys's Mahsun Sonalp was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mahsun Sonalp made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tostão Mineiro in the 73rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Souza in the 74th minute of play forced Newells Old Boys's goalkeeper Mahsun Sonalp to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 80 minutes into the match, Newells Old Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Souza came free, but Mahsun Sonalp reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Newells Old Boys's Mahsun Sonalp played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabi Gol in the 81st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tostão Mineiro in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mahsun Sonalp saved Newells Old Boys from getting behind. In the 87th minute Gabi Gol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mahsun Sonalp saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luizinho Silva kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. In the 94th minute, Gabi Gol left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The América-SC F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. América-SC F.C. fully deserved thier win.
