The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. When Laurendi Abendano came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the El Pulpo Paceño fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Laurendi Abendano couldn't finish the play. Edoardo Sarnelli hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. In the 16th minute Laurendi Abendano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frank Pani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th minute, Francisco Abalos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Frank Pani was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Frank Pani didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Laurendi Abendano went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Francisco Abalos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edoardo Sarnelli charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edoardo Sarnelli the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Laurendi Abendano managed to get in a good position for a shot. El Pulpo Paceño's supporters rose to their feet, but Laurendi Abendano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frank Pani breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Frank Pani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laurendi Abendano in the 28th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laurendi Abendano in the 32nd minute of play forced Lilywhites's goalkeeper Frank Pani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 37 minutes into the game, El Pulpo Paceño's Laurendi Abendano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Frank Pani made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. After the first half El Pulpo Paceño were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Laurendi Abendano to strike the kick off in the second half. El Pulpo Paceño's Roegelio Abeita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fulvio Nola in the 51st minute of play. Lilywhites's Frank Pani proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Lilywhites from getting a goal against them. In the 57th minute, Laurendi Abendano reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Frank Pani. The goal made the score 0-5. Frank Pani made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Laurendi Abendano sent off a good shot on target. El Pulpo Paceño were awarded a corner in the 62th minute after Lilywhites's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Iban Abecia took the corner. The corner led El Pulpo Paceño's Iban Abecia to fire away a dangerous shot which Frank Pani despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After having played for 64 minutes, Fulvio Nola managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lilywhites's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fulvio Nola was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 67th minute, Laurendi Abendano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 69th match minute, Lilywhites was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciro Riccitelli to maneuver through the defense. Lilywhites's Frank Pani proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Lilywhites from getting a goal against them. Laurendi Abendano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Pani having to interfere. 78 minutes into the match, El Pulpo Paceño's Laurendi Abendano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Frank Pani narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Frank Pani came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by El Pulpo Paceño's Laurendi Abendano. But to his dismay, Laurendi Abendano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. The crowd rose to their feet as Laurendi Abendano kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Frank Pani. That made the score 0-7 in the 83 minute of play. El Pulpo Paceño's Roegelio Abeita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amos Tocci in the 88th minute of play. When the match was over El Pulpo Paceño could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Lilywhites throughout the match.
