Through an outstanding action, after 13 minutes, Thomas Sørensen successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Champions Iasi's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Adam Ghimiș in the 14th minute. Michael Laudrup sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristinel Alexe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Grivekov in the 19th minute of the match. In the 21st minute, one of FC Grivata:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC Grivata. In the 23rd minute, Adam Ghimiș ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thomas Sørensen was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. When Marin Petruescu came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Champions Iasi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marin Petruescu couldn't finish the play. In the 30th minute, Cazimir Zăraşcu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kristiyan Barov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristinel Alexe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kristiyan Barov in the 34th minute of the match. In the 39thth minute of the game Kristiyan Barov who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Champions Iasi's Cristinel Alexe was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 42nd match minute, Champions Iasi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leontin Hâldan to maneuver through the defense. Cristinel Alexe didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kristiyan Barov went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Ivan Grivekov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kristiyan Barov made a kick off. When the match clock showed 54 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Kristiyan Barov sped through Champions Iasi's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Cristinel Alexe. Cristinel Alexe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivan Grivekov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kristiyan Barov's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Cristinel Alexe firmly grabbed it by the left post. Donyo Spasovski hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. After 65 played minutes FC Grivata got a freekick which was hit by Donyo Spasovski. 65 minutes into the match, FC Grivata's goal looked a bit too open when Adam Ghimiș came free, but Thomas Sørensen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kristiyan Barov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristinel Alexe having to interfere. 71 minutes into the game, Lyuben Dimiev lined in a short shot 1-4 behind a frustrated Cristinel Alexe. Cristinel Alexe made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Lyuben Dimiev sent off a good shot on target. In the 82nd minute Adam Ghimiș shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Sørensen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kristiyan Barov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Cristinel Alexe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Kristiyan Barov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lyuben Dimiev recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kristiyan Barov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Cristinel Alexe made a huge save. Cristinel Alexe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Grivekov in the 95th minute of the match.
