After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Radomil Cielencki managed to get in a good position for a shot. KOZIOŁKI KKS POZNAŃ's supporters rose to their feet, but Radomil Cielencki was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Radu Jilăveanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Derman Cruchet's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 6thth minute, Radu Jilăveanu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The audience was convinced that Derman Cruchet's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Radu Jilăveanu was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. Antoni Zacharczyk kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. New York Red Bulls's Cazimir Tufescu got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 19 minutes into the game, Derman Cruchet lined in a short shot 3-0 behind a frustrated Radu Jilăveanu. An unexpectedly hard shot by Derman Cruchet in the 23rd minute of play forced New York Red Bulls's goalkeeper Radu Jilăveanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Slawomir Kornaszewski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Radu Jilăveanu made a huge save. The supporters of KOZIOŁKI KKS POZNAŃ booed when New York Red Bulls was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cazimir Tufescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute Artur Wierzbicki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Radu Jilăveanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Derman Cruchet kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Radu Jilăveanu. That made the score 5-0 in the 34 minute of play. After 36 played minutes KOZIOŁKI KKS POZNAŃ got a freekick which was hit by Witalis Ziomkowski. In the 37th minute, Cristinel Alamaru sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and KOZIOŁKI KKS POZNAŃ's Zula Bator didn't even have to move. 40 minutes into the game, Derman Cruchet recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Radu Jilăveanu. Derman Cruchet showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 6-0. In the last second Radu Jilăveanu throw himself and got hold of the ball when Derman Cruchet in the 42ndth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. KOZIOŁKI KKS POZNAŃ were awarded a corner in the 44th minute after New York Red Bulls's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Slawomir Kornaszewski took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Slawomir Kornaszewski got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Radu Jilăveanu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Radu Jilăveanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Artur Wierzbicki in the 44th minute of the match. In the 47th match minute, KOZIOŁKI KKS POZNAŃ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Slawomir Kornaszewski to maneuver through the defense.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Derman Cruchet stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 69th minute, Derman Cruchet ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Radu Jilăveanu was frozen by the shot and now it was 10-0. Zula Bator showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nazım Taci, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. The KOZIOŁKI KKS POZNAŃ fans' excitement grew in the 73rd match minute when KOZIOŁKI KKS POZNAŃ's Derman Cruchet looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. New York Red Bulls's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KOZIOŁKI KKS POZNAŃ the free kick. KOZIOŁKI KKS POZNAŃ's Artur Wierzbicki got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The KOZIOŁKI KKS POZNAŃ fans cheered their team off the field, for while New York Red Bulls had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
