Humberto Diegotxe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brock Friend, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Humberto Diegotxe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 余永川, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. In the 14th minute, 余永川 made a precise shot to the right of Humberto Diegotxe. The referee ignored Go Vegan's protests and gave Elvio Poncio a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Cruzeiro Esporte Clube booed when Go Vegan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elvio Poncio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elvio Poncio hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. When Daniel Simões fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's protests and gave Daniel Simões a yellow card for diving instead. In the 53rd minute, Daniel Simões hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-7 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Tadeo Santos made the kick off in the second half. Go Vegan's Humberto Diegotxe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Go Vegan from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by 余永川 in the 94th minute of play forced Go Vegan's goalkeeper Humberto Diegotxe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ramon Frichoso during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
