Torcato Bentes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Carlos Mattos in the 6th minute of play. In the 13th minute João Carlos Mattos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Torcato Bentes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Germano Vasques sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, New Loser FC's Luís Paulo Nogueira got a free kick in the 15th minute. José Lousada could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Magno Vidal made a huge save. Torcato Bentes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Carlos Mattos in the 21st minute of play. Cássio Madeira struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Magno Vidal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Garanhão do SUL. In the 23rd minute, Bebeto Penha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 26th minute Gildo Corrêa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Torcato Bentes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Álvaro Calçada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the match, Garanhão do SUL's goal looked a bit too open when João Carlos Mattos came free, but Torcato Bentes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, New Loser FC's Bebeto Penha got a free kick in the 34th minute. Cássio Madeira took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Magno Vidal. Magno Vidal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Torcato Bentes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gildo Corrêa, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Paulo Nogueira in the 45th minute of play forced Garanhão do SUL's goalkeeper Torcato Bentes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cássio Madeira to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of New Loser FC booed when Garanhão do SUL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucas Meireles didn't get a good kick on the ball. 51 minutes in the game, João Carlos Mattos fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Torcato Bentes having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Garanhão do SUL's Silvério Brochado got a free kick in the 55th minute. Torcato Bentes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Virgílio Diniz in the 62nd minute. In the 66th minute, New Loser FC's João Pedro Goiano ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Torcato Bentes. Torcato Bentes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Torcato Bentes made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Virgílio Diniz sent off a good shot on target. 76 minutes into the match, Cássio Madeira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Magno Vidal. New Loser FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cássio Madeira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Gildo Corrêa hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Tarcisio Bezerra kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Garanhão do SUL's Filinto Coelho couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 88th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for New Loser FC. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Álvaro Calçada managed to get in a good position for a shot. Garanhão do SUL's supporters rose to their feet, but Álvaro Calçada was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Magno Vidal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 94th minute, Cássio Madeira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Garanhão do SUL fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1.
