Edelmiro Aizpuru kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. In the 16th minute Rolando Reynardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgilio Patiño saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wilson Morales in the 19th managed to get into a good position. Newpi Academy's Dionisio Abaurre proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Newpi Academy from getting a goal against them. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wilson Morales to make the kick off. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dionisio Abaurre showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Remi Manzanal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 71 minutes into the match, Newpi Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Wilson Morales came free, but Dionisio Abaurre reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Txordon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgilio Patiño having to interfere. Dionisio Abaurre stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wilson Morales's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. Dionisio Abaurre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Remi Manzanal in the 82nd minute of play. In the 84thth minute of the game Wilson Morales who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Newpi Academy's Dionisio Abaurre was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Wilson Morales in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Newpi Academy's Rolando Reynardo got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Newpi Academy players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Club Deportes Santa Cruz from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
