Thiago Caniggia started the match with the kick off. Necmi Kayaer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, istanbulls's İsmail Hakkı Onuralp got a free kick in the 10th minute. After a defensive mix-up in istanbulls's zone, Silvano Ugutz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kaan Erginsoy came out of the goal and Silvano Ugutz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mustafa Ali Pala's late challenge caught a Sportivo Desamparados's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mustafa Ali Pala helped the player get up and apologised. After 14 played minutes istanbulls got a freekick which was hit by Mustafa Ali Pala. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evaristo Abeitia in the 16th minute of play forced istanbulls's goalkeeper Kaan Erginsoy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th minute, Thiago Caniggia made a precise shot to the right of Kaan Erginsoy. istanbulls's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 28 minutes into the game, Ahmet Boran Sezai was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. istanbulls's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sportivo Desamparados the free kick. In the 28th minute, Ahmet Boran Sezai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 29th match minute, Sportivo Desamparados was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Froilan Ordono to maneuver through the defense. Kaan Erginsoy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evaristo Abeitia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd minute, Sportivo Desamparados's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Abdi Mutluhan fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Necmi Kayaer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Damaso Llin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abdi Mutluhan in the 33rd minute. Jeronimo Terciero kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Kaan Erginsoy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Carolo Servando's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Necmi Kayaer to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Sportivo Desamparados's goal looked a bit too open when Necmi Kayaer came free, but Damaso Llin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 57th minute Silvano Ugutz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kaan Erginsoy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kaan Erginsoy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carolo Servando in the 60th minute of the match. Ahmet Boran Sezai hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. A collision led to istanbulls getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Mustafa Ali Pala hit a great ball. The supporters of istanbulls booed when Sportivo Desamparados was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alonzo Rito didn't get a good kick on the ball. istanbulls's Kaan Erginsoy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save istanbulls from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Abdi Mutluhan during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, istanbulls's Abdi Mutluhan got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 74th minute Evaristo Abeitia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kaan Erginsoy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 75 played minutes Sportivo Desamparados got a freekick which was hit by Froilan Ordono. In the 76th minute, Carolo Servando hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 78 minutes, Carolo Servando managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sportivo Desamparados's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carolo Servando was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. istanbulls's Kaan Erginsoy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carolo Servando in the 84th minute of play. In the 86th minute Abdi Mutluhan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damaso Llin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carolo Servando in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kaan Erginsoy prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 91st minute, Mustafa Ali Pala hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sportivo Desamparados's Silvano Ugutz shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 92nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Kaan Erginsoy but with some difficulty. In the 95th minute, İsmail Hakkı Onuralp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Sportivo Desamparados supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Sportivo Desamparados would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
