Nuno de Andrade could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Celsinho Lopez made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Elano Berger managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paris San Duíche's supporters rose to their feet, but Elano Berger was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celsinho Lopez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Paris San Duíche getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Dagoberto Tinoco hit a great ball. In the 30th minute, Elano Berger reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Celsinho Lopez. The goal made the score 2-0. Nuno de Andrade's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Celsinho Lopez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. Paris San Duíche's Elano Berger got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Celsinho Lopez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nuno de Andrade, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute.
