Hogans Heroes's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Stig-Ove Sundström charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stig-Ove Sundström the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Frinnaryd getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. The referee ignored Hogans Heroes's protests and gave Sune Fredriksson a yellow card for diving instead. But to his dismay, Olof Gråberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Sune Fredriksson's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Robert Åström firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a rather tough play, Hogans Heroes's Rudolf Tomasson got a free kick in the 35th minute. In the 42nd minute, Aron Bergkvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Boris Forsberg hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Kenny Carlsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olof Gråberg in the 46th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Martin Delin to make the kick off. Kenny Carlsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Olof Gråberg in the 60th minute. Osvald Strand could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Kenny Carlsson made a huge save. Hogans Heroes's Kenny Carlsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Delin in the 62nd minute of play. Osvald Strand hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Frinnaryd's zone, Sune Fredriksson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Robert Åström came out of the goal and Sune Fredriksson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Frinnaryd eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
