With 3 minutes on the clock, Robert Simionică commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 2nd minute of the game. One of FC ciufulici:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Maritza:s goal. Petrică Todoran went to the wrong direction when Yavor Hadzhiatanasov was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Kuncho Alichkov did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Petrică Todoran 6 minutes into the match. After 18 played minutes Maritza got a freekick which was hit by Yavor Hadzhiatanasov. 22 minutes into the match, Maritza's goal looked a bit too open when Damian Şoimaru came free, but Vladimir Pushkov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Iosif Hârtopanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vanko Sidov made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 25thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Petrică Todoran would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Vanko Sidov struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Petrică Todoran didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maritza. 35 minutes into the game, Maritza's Kuncho Alichkov nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Petrică Todoran made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Teodosi Iliychev kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Dido Dereliev took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 45th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Petrică Todoran. FC ciufulici's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kuncho Alichkov in the 46th minute of play forced FC ciufulici's goalkeeper Petrică Todoran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Damian Şoimaru made the kick off in the second half. The Maritza fans' excitement grew in the 57th match minute when Maritza's Vanko Sidov looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 64 minutes into the game, Damian Şoimaru cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Vladimir Pushkov was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Edgar Comarnescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC ciufulici's supporters rose to their feet, but Edgar Comarnescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vladimir Pushkov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Damian Vulpescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Petrică Todoran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kuncho Alichkov in the 74th minute of play. After 78 minutes, Iosif Hârtopanu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC ciufulici and the Maritza players grew even worse after the yellow card. Maritza's Vladimir Pushkov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damian Şoimaru in the 84th minute of play. 91 minutes into the game, Edgar Comarnescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC ciufulici's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Maritza the free kick. After 95 played minutes FC ciufulici got a freekick which was hit by Damian Vulpescu.
