In the 3rd minute, Ciccio Moscatelli got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Emilio Fioriti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herbert Turek in the 9th minute of play forced S.S.C. NAPOLI's goalkeeper Eraldo Scibilia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ludomir Szotek during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 15 minutes of play KS Piast Cieszyn's Ludomir Szotek was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. S.S.C. NAPOLI's Adriano Giannotti was substituted for Armin Corelli. In the 19th match minute, S.S.C. NAPOLI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felice Franceschelli to maneuver through the defense. Stanislaw Mruk charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stanislaw Mruk the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, KS Piast Cieszyn's Stanislaw Mruk got a free kick in the 22nd minute. After 25 played minutes KS Piast Cieszyn got a freekick which was hit by Waclaw Kinic. Zbyszek Naskrent came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by S.S.C. NAPOLI's Ciccio Moscatelli. But to his dismay, Ciccio Moscatelli quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Zbyszek Naskrent showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian Guadagnoli, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. 37 minutes into the match, KS Piast Cieszyn's goal looked a bit too open when Ciccio Moscatelli came free, but Zbyszek Naskrent reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Angelo Mariotti took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zbyszek Naskrent. Zbyszek Naskrent dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Eraldo Scibilia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Szczepan Oborski in the 47th minute.

Zbyszek Naskrent took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angelo Mariotti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 53rd minute, Herbert Turek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Angelo Mariotti kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Zbyszek Naskrent. That made the score 0-4 in the 54 minute of play. Zbyszek Naskrent showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciccio Moscatelli, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. After 63 played minutes KS Piast Cieszyn got a freekick which was hit by Szczepan Oborski. S.S.C. NAPOLI's Ciccio Moscatelli got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. KS Piast Cieszyn's Zbyszek Naskrent proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save KS Piast Cieszyn from getting a goal against them. After 70 minutes, Waclaw Kinic mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KS Piast Cieszyn and the S.S.C. NAPOLI players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to KS Piast Cieszyn getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Waclaw Kinic hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in KS Piast Cieszyn's zone, Ciccio Moscatelli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zbyszek Naskrent came out of the goal and Ciccio Moscatelli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to KS Piast Cieszyn getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Stanislaw Mruk hit a great ball. Zbyszek Naskrent made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciccio Moscatelli in the 75th minute of play. Zbyszek Naskrent made an important save on a dangerous shot by Christian Guadagnoli in the 76th minute. When Christian Guadagnoli fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S.S.C. NAPOLI's protests and gave Christian Guadagnoli a yellow card for diving instead. Christian Guadagnoli hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 79th match minute, KS Piast Cieszyn was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Szczepan Oborski to maneuver through the defense.
