But to his dismay, Herbert Turek quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 39 minutes into the match, KS Piast Cieszyn's goalkeeper Zbyszek Naskrent had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Basilio Ruisko. After a rather tough play, KS Piast Cieszyn's Dariusz Kasprzak got a free kick in the 42nd minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Szczepan Oborski made a kick off. Zbyszek Naskrent made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leo Romo in the 51st minute of play. Rafael Gombal was a little too slow when Szczepan Oborski got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 54th minute. The score was now 2-3. Zbyszek Naskrent showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Justo Thomas in the 62nd minute of the match. After 64 played minutes Habsburgo got a freekick which was hit by Basilio Ruisko. Rafael Gombal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herbert Turek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of KS Piast Cieszyn booed when Habsburgo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mario Bartuelo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 81 minutes into the game, Habsburgo's Leo Romo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zbyszek Naskrent made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-4. Basilio Ruisko's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zbyszek Naskrent read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. Zbyszek Naskrent showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Justo Thomas in the 85th minute of the match. The Habsburgo fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. KS Piast Cieszyn were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
