In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Real Leonana's goalkeeper Rien Seedorf, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 13th minute Jordy Ottenhof shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Billy Metcalf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 14th minute Ed Edison shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rien Seedorf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ed Edison let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 14th minute shot 1-0 at rihgt post. FC Real Leonana's Rien Seedorf proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save FC Real Leonana from getting a goal against them. 26 minutes into the match, Barr Point's goal looked a bit too open when Jordy Ottenhof came free, but Billy Metcalf reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28thth minute of the game Ed Edison who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Real Leonana's Rien Seedorf was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Ed Edison managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barr Point's supporters rose to their feet, but Ed Edison was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rien Seedorf breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Ernst Spanjaard's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Billy Metcalf was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Luc Zegeling recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 37 minutes into the match, FC Real Leonana's Ernst Spanjaard sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Billy Metcalf narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 41 minutes, Ernst Spanjaard made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Barr Point's Billy Metcalf tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Matty Sullivan during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ed Edison made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ed Edison in the 51st minute of play forced FC Real Leonana's goalkeeper Rien Seedorf to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sammy Faulkner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Rien Seedorf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ernst Spanjaard in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Billy Metcalf saved Barr Point from getting behind. The supporters of FC Real Leonana booed when Barr Point was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matty Sullivan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Billy Metcalf made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ernst Spanjaard in the 66th minute. A collision led to Barr Point getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Matty Sullivan hit a great ball. Ed Edison received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Rien Seedorf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Barr Point's Ed Edison in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Real Leonana's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 76 minutes, Rein Kleiker managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Real Leonana's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rein Kleiker was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 77th match minute, Barr Point was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paddy Bastow to maneuver through the defense. Ed Edison fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rien Seedorf having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ernst Spanjaard in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Billy Metcalf saved Barr Point from getting behind.
