In the 7th match minute, Ágætis Byrjun was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mirko Kielstra to maneuver through the defense. Henrihs Rudgalvis hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. In the 11th minute of the match Ted Dam sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kārlis Blāķis skillfully saved the ball. Serge Buring showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valentīns Vitmanis, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Valentīns Vitmanis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Ričards Padoms came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Black horses fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ričards Padoms couldn't finish the play. In the 28th match minute, Ágætis Byrjun was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgard Ooijer to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Black horses booed when Ágætis Byrjun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mirko Kielstra didn't get a good kick on the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Black horses's Ričards Padoms sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Serge Buring narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Kārlis Blāķis made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Edgard Ooijer sent off a good shot on target. After 42 played minutes, Black horses's Valentīns Vitmanis shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Serge Buring came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Black horses reached it.

In the 52nd match minute, Black horses was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kaspars Ragutiņš to maneuver through the defense. Valentīns Vitmanis succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 60th playminute. After 65 minutes, Mirko Kielstra made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Black horses's Kārlis Blāķis tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 70th minute, Henrihs Rudgalvis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hans-Cees Ridder in the 71st minute of play forced Black horses's goalkeeper Kārlis Blāķis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mirko Kielstra kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Ričards Padoms recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 79 played minutes Ágætis Byrjun got a freekick which was hit by Mirko Kielstra. The crowd rose to their feet as Ričards Padoms kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Serge Buring. That made the score 2-2 in the 84 minute of play. With his leg Serge Buring managed to avoid a goal in the 91stth minute, when Black horses's Ričards Padoms fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Hans-Cees Ridder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
