An unexpectedly hard shot by Leandro Brito in the 8th minute of play forced Canastro FC's goalkeeper Vladimir Miheev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Montevideo's Andreas Lips played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zbyszko Cupial in the 10th minute of play. João Paulo de Alcântara hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Staffan Nyberg in the 17th minute of play forced Montevideo's goalkeeper Andreas Lips to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Montevideo's Diogo Vale broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Zé Roberto Martins's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vladimir Miheev read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. In the 32nd minute Zbyszko Cupial shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andreas Lips saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andreas Lips took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zbyszko Cupial, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Andreas Lips made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Staffan Nyberg sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gonçalo Mello in the 41st minute of play forced Canastro FC's goalkeeper Vladimir Miheev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Canastro FC's Vladimir Miheev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Roberto Martins in the 42nd minute of play. When Canastro FC's Zbyszko Cupial, in the 44th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Canastro FC. After a rather tough play, Montevideo's João Paulo de Alcântara got a free kick in the 45th minute. Andreas Lips showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zbyszko Cupial, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zbyszko Cupial stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Vladimir Miheev made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Zé Roberto Martins sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Pedro Silva in the 61st minute of play forced Montevideo's goalkeeper Andreas Lips to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Andreas Lips showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Staffan Nyberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. After 67 minutes of play, Canastro FC's Zbyszko Cupial made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Andreas Lips was left in no man's land by his defense there! Andreas Lips showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Staffan Nyberg in the 70th minute of the match. Gonçalo Mello struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Vladimir Miheev didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Montevideo. Andreas Lips made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Staffan Nyberg in the 78th minute of play. Zbyszko Cupial took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Andreas Lips. Andreas Lips dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Andreas Lips showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Staffan Nyberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. In the 93rd minute, Staffan Nyberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Andreas Lips was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Staffan Nyberg in the 96th minute of play forced Montevideo's goalkeeper Andreas Lips to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

For all the effort they put into the match, the Montevideo players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Canastro FC.
